Tasmania Police Charity Trust – Assistance Application Guidelines

The Tasmania Police Charity Trust is dedicated to providing support and assistance to individuals and organisations with a focus on children and young people and their families who are disadvantaged, at risk, experiencing medical challenges and/or financial hardship or other difficult circumstances. The Trust is generously supported by members of Tasmania Police who donate through their salary deductions, and the many people who support and give to our events like the Golf Day and Bike Ride. An application for assistance must be sponsored and submitted by a current or former member of Tasmania Police or Business Executive staff.

How we support people and organisations

  • Donations to individual fundraising campaigns of employees of Tasmania Police or Business Executive Services where they support the aims of the Trust.
  • A contribution to or reimbursement for therapeutic items or medical expenses or other items for children or young people experiencing significant medical challenges and financial or emotional distress.
  • Support to organisations which provide services for children and young people experiencing challenges such as health, disability, disadvantage and/or financial difficulties.
We don’t provide direct support to Tasmania Police members or DPFEM staff because financial hardship is one of the criteria for assistance, but we will support the organisations that provide support to Tasmania Police families when they need help.  For example – an organisation which supports families impacted by childhood illness.

Eligibility Criteria for an individual application for assistance:

  • The recipient must be a child or young person, or an organisation or individual supporting children or young people, based in Tasmania.
  • The application should demonstrate a genuine need for assistance and align with the Trust’s objectives.
  • Applications must be submitted and sponsored by a member or retired member of Tasmania Police, Business Executive Services or a member of the Board.
  • Attach any supporting documents, such as financial statements, testimonials, or relevant project details, to strengthen your application.
  • If assistance is granted, recipients may be required to provide progress reports or updates on the utilisation of the assistance.
  • Recipients may also be requested to participate in media or promotional activities related to the Trust’s initiatives, although this is not a requirement.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee assistance from the Tasmania Police Charity Trust.
