Tasmania Police Charity Trust Bike Ride Donates $45,000 to Charities

The Tasmania Police Charity Trust Bike Ride committee, supported by Police Bank, were thrilled to hand over $45,000 cheques today to both Muscular Dystrophy Tasmania and HeartKids Tasmania.

Over three days in early December, 73 riders pedalled 470km (with 4,000 metres of climbing) from Deloraine, to Poatina, Great Lakes and Cradle Mountain, raising much-needed money to support (for the second time) these two very worthy Tasmanian charities.

Led by Constable Richard Douglas, over 17 years the ride has so far raised a total of $890,000 supporting Tasmanian charities.

…This is far from the end – the cohort are planning to safely fasten their helmets and lycra again this year – aiming to reach the million-dollar donation mark.

Well done team – your efforts and support of Tasmanian charities is nothing short of amazing!
